Monument Valley, AZ

We left Canyon de Chelly the morning after Laura's accident and drove to a campground near the entrance to Monument Valley. It was a beautiful place, set back in a canyon, full hookups (i.e. water, power, sewer) - a good place to chill while we evaluated how bad Laura was hurt. We literally did nothing for two days before we ventured out to see Monument Valley. Even though we were driving a 4 wheel drive vehicle, the road through the park left a lot to be desired, never mind the numerous tour guides whizzing past and leaving us in their dust. It's a beautiful and very scenic place - as can be seen in dozens of movies through the years including, but not limited to, movies made by director John Ford with actor John Wayne. It was a bit of a rough trip for Laura but she managed it pretty well. Here are a few pictures of the valley we took that day.
